Synapsis

In Switzerland, he teaches aspiring talents from the region of Bern, but also from Europe, the Middle East and South America. Through chance, Marcel Schwald and choreographer Chris Leuenberger heard about this practically unknown chapter of Swiss Dance History. They took up contact with four former dance students of Kreutzberg. One of them – 85-year old Hilde Niederer – even consented to dance once more on stage. KREUTZBERG unifies two generations of artists on stage. The context of Kreutzberg’s life and his influence on students is reconstructed with elements of dance and documentary theatre. Adored for his dancing techniques, yet critizised for his performances during the Second World War, an array of critical questions accompanies the dancers on stage.
