The lecture / screening-performance "Balkanesien" was developed as part of "Ferien" (engl. holiday) program of Kaskadenkondensator Basel.
Synapsis
Cultural manager Boris Brüderlin, architect Reto Keller and director Marcel Schwald preserved their road trip following the guideline: "in case of a fight, press play".
On a beautiful summers day a Volvo starts its journey from Basel to Istanbul. The filmings of idyllic landscapes are disrupted by three nagging and fighting men who try to shatter the illusion of the perfect tourist on a perfect road trip.
The well-directed and encouraged disharmonie shows to be strategy to get closer to each other and spend the journey truly "together".
